Delete Data Window

This window lets you remove columns from the dataset, or delete data within a certain date range. To access this window, choose Delete Data from the Revise menu:

If you use the Delete selected columns radio button to delete a column, Windographer will remove that column from the dataset entirely, and it will no longer appear in any list of data columns. The diagram below illustrates this situation:

Tip: You can also delete a column from the Configure Dataset window.

If you choose to delete from a column the data within a certain date range, Windographer will remove those data points but the column itself will remain. The diagram below illustrates this situation:

Deleting According to Flag Status

You can also delete data flagged with certain flags. The settings below instruct Windographer to delete any data points flagged with the 'Invalid' flag in the year 2019 in the data columns 'Dir 56.5m' and 'Tmp 2m':

Note that the above settings will cause Windographer to delete any data points flagged as both 'Invalid' and 'Icing'. Note also that after deleting data, you could reconstruct the dataset to fill the resulting gaps, but it is not necessary to do so.

You can also delete data not flagged with certain flags. You may use this if you use flags to indicate valid or verified data. The settings below, for example, instruct Windographer to delete any data points in the data columns 'Dir 56.5m' and 'Dir 34m' that occur in the year 2019 that have NOT been flagged with the 'Direction Confirmed' flag:

Note that the above settings will leave undeleted any data point flagged with 'Direction Confirmed' and some other flag.

Changing the Start Date or End Date

If necessary, Windographer will reset the start or end date of your dataset after deletion. If you delete data from all data columns starting from the first time step, Windographer will adjust the start time accordingly. The diagram below illustrates this situation:

2015-07-30 23:109.34180

Tip: You do not need to delete data just to exclude it from calculations, since you can instead flag problematic data and exclude it from calculations and outputs with data filtering.
