Representative Year Window |
The Representative Year window creates a synthetic one-year time series spanning exactly one calendar year with no gaps, which matches the measured data's distribution, diurnal and seasonal patterns, and autocorrelation. You can access this window from the bottom of the
menu.Tip: You can use the Representative Year window only if you have the Professional or higher edition of Windographer. Please visit www.windographer.com for information on the pricing and capability of each edition.
Choose one or more data columns, set the filter settings, then click Generate Representative Year. Windographer will generate a synthetic year of data to match the statistical characteristics of the original data. The graphs and the summary table let you verify the degree of similarity.
Click Export to Text File to export the representative year data to a tab-delimited text file.
Tip: The representative year dataset covers a hypothetical year, not any actual calendar year, so the exported file omits the year. To import that data file back into Windographer, you will have to write a simple WIS file.
To generate a representative year of data, Windographer uses the Markov-based reconstruction mechanism to synthesize one year of data. This process includes a random component and will produce a different result each time. If the dataset uses a time step smaller than 60 minutes, it downsamples the synthesized data to a 60-minute time step.
Right-click any graph to change its properties, copy the image to the clipboard, or export it to a file. Right-click on any table to export it to a file, or copy it. See the article on exporting graphs or exporting tables for more information.
