Data Channel

A data channel is a group of related data columns, usually originating from a single instrument. For example, a data logger may record the signal from an anemometer and write to the data file the mean, min, max, and standard deviation of that signal in each time step. If you were to read that data file in Windographer and you specified the min, max, and standard deviation columns as associated with the mean column, that group of four data columns would form a data channel.

Windographer tries to determine associations between data columns automatically when importing raw data, but you can always make manual adjustments in the Data Columns tab of the Configure Dataset window.

The Calibration window allows you to save, view or change the calibration of a data channel. Calibration applies to all the columns in the data channel.

You can see a table of data channels on the Tables window.
