Wind Turbine Properties File |
A wind turbine properties file is an XML file with a .WTP extension that encapsulates all the turbine properties that appear in the Wind Turbine Properties window. It is one three wind turbine properties file formats that Windographer supports.
Windographer contains a library of wind turbines that appears as a drop-down list of turbines in several windows including the Wind Turbine Output window. This library consists of multiple wind turbine properties files, one for each wind turbine model. In the Wind Turbine Library window you can add to or remove from the library.
You can share wind turbine property files with other Windographer users.
To export a wind turbine property file, click Details next to any Wind Turbine drop-down box, then click Export File.
To import a wind turbine property file, click New or Edit on the Wind Turbine Library window, then click Import File. Windographer saves new turbine files to the User folder.
Tip: If you create your own wind turbine property file and you wish to share it with the Windographer user community, please send it to us so that we can incorporate it into the standard wind turbine library in Windographer. In the Notes field, please indicate your name and from where you obtained the data.
The wind turbine library consists of a collection of WTP files, which Windographer stores in two folders within the common application data folder on your computer:
{CommonApplicationDataFolder}\Windographer\WindTurbines\Installed
{CommonApplicationDataFolder}\Windographer\WindTurbines\User
In the English language version of Windows 7, 8, and 10, the default common application data folder is C:\ProgramData.
When you install Windographer, it places many wind turbine property files in the Installed subfolder. Windographer does not let you edit these files, but you can create and edit copies that will appear in the User subfolder. Future installations of Windographer may add, update, or delete files in the Installed subfolder, but will not affect the User subfolder.
You can change the location of the User subfolder from the Folder tab of the Options window. You can point multiple users to a common shared folder to share the files in a User subfolder, for example.
