Importing RLD Files

RLD files are binary-format raw wind data files written by the SymphoniePRO data logger by NRG Systems. You can open RLD files in Windographer using File > Open or File > Add Dataset(s), provided you have the Symphonie Pro software installed on your computer. You can download the SymphoniePRO Desktop Application for free from NRG Systems website, www.nrgsystems.com.

For each data channel, Windographer will obtain the sensor type, units, measurement height, scale, offset and serial number where possible along with the calibrated data. The scales, offsets and serial numbers will appear in the Calibration window. If the file contains Project and Site Description details, they will become the dataset name and description in Windographer. (You can view and edit this in the Configure Dataset window.)

Note that you can open many RLD files at once with File > Append . Hold down the Shift key or the Ctrl key to select multiple files, or File > Open Folder :

To read RLD files, Windographer needs to be able to find the SymphoniePRO Desktop Application on your computer. You can tell it where to find SymphoniePRO Desktop Application in Tools > Options > Folders. Make sure that SymphoniePRO Desktop Application is not already running on your computer when you try importing an RLD file.

When you open an encrypted RLD file, Windographer will ask you to supply the encryption code or password.

Tip: You can specify a site file using a WIS file.

If you experience any difficulty in opening an RLD file in Windographer, please let us know, and send us the file if possible. (We treat all data confidentially.)
