| Importing RWD Files | |
RWD files are binary-format raw wind data files written by the Symphonie Data Retriever software by NRG Systems. You can open RWD files in Windographer using or , provided you have the Symphonie Data Recorder software installed on your computer. You can download the SDR software for free from NRG Systems website, www.nrgsystems.com.
Windographer will obtain the height, sensor type, units, scale, offset and sensor serial numbers where possible along with the calibrated data. The height and sensor type will be used to create a helpful data column name such as 'Speed 60m A', or 'Direction 50m Max'. The scale, offset and sensor serial number will appear in the Calibration window.
Note that you can open many RWD files at once with . Hold down the Shift key or the Ctrl key to select multiple files:
To read RWD files, Windographer needs to be able to find the SDR software on your computer. You can tell it where to find the SDR software in . Make sure that the SDR software is not already running on your computer when you try importing an RWD file.
When opening an RWD file, Windographer can use the calibration and sensor information from the RWD file itself (default) or from the associated 'site file'. You can control this setting in . If you choose to ignore site files, Windographer will read the calibration settings from the RWD files themselves. Otherwise, it will take the calibration settings from the associated site file if available, or from the RWD file if not.
When you open an encrypted RWD file, and you have chosen to ignore site files, Windographer will ask you to supply the encryption code. If you receive this message in error, the file may be corrupt. You can choose to continue opening the file without an encryption code, which may or may not succeed.
