The Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) Custom Component can model a common contract used for purchasing electricity from a third-party provider. During the simulation, the microgrid buys and sells all of the power produced by the Custom Component. This is often called a "buy-all, sell-all" PPA contract.

On the Custom page for a PPA, you can specify the Energy Price in $/kWh. This energy price is paid as an annual operation and maintenance cost.

Under the Resources Tab, you must import a time-series resource for the Power Output in kW for the PPA. The resource time series is then multiplied by the Search Space quantity to determine the power output for each time step.

Note: If the imported power output accounts for energy loss and is negative at any time step, HOMER will treat these values as zero.
