Probability Density Function

The probability density function f(x) gives the probability that a variable will take on the value x. It is often expressed using a frequency histogram, which gives the frequency with which the variable falls within certain ranges or bins. An example of a frequency histogram graph appears below:

Within Windographer, we sometimes abbreviate probability density function as PDF.
