Windographer calculates the cube root mean cubed (CRMC) wind speed using the following equation:

| N | is the number of values in the set of wind speeds | |
| Ui | is the ith observed wind speed [m/s] |
A steady wind at the CRMC wind speed (and at the mean air density) would have a wind power density equal to the measured mean wind power density.
The Wind Speed Sensor Summary Table on the Tables window reports the CRMC wind speed for each wind speed sensor.
