Constant Offset Algorithm

The Constant Offset algorithm is a simple algorithm that Windographer uses to calculate the correlation between two data columns containing wind direction data. It calculates in every time step the veer, which is the clockwise change in direction from reference to onsite, and then it calculates the mean veer in each sector. To predict the onsite direction it simply adds that mean veer value to the reference direction. You can choose to subdivide the analysis into multiple direction sectors if you wish. The reference direction sensor defines the sectors.

Windographer uses the Constant Offset algorithm in the Long Term Adjustment window and in the MCP-based reconstruction mechanism

Options

You can subdivide by direction sector. The reference direction sensor defines the sectors.
