Importing NDF Files

NDF files are binary-format files written by the Nomad 2 data logger from Vaisala. They often contain a single day of data, but they can contain more. You can open NDF files in Windographer using File > Open or File > Append.

Windographer will obtain the scaled data, along with the calibration information (scale and offset) and data column headers. From this information, Windographer will set the column types (wind speed, temperature, etc.), heights and associated maximum, minimum and standard deviation columns. The scale and offset will be stored in the Calibration window.

Note that you can open many NDF files at once with File > Append . Hold down the Shift key or the Ctrl key to select multiple files.

If you experience any difficulty in opening an NDF file in Windographer, please let us know, and send us the file if possible. (We treat all data confidentially.)
