Grid Standby Charge

The grid standby charge is an annual fee charged by the utility for providing backup grid power for a grid-connected power system. HOMER does not apply this fee to grid-only systems, but rather to grid-connected systems that include some other generation source (such as a microturbine, fuel cell, or PV array). For these systems, the standby charge is added to the grid costs.
